Could you describe your latest book, One Hundred Percent Me?
A little girl is used to hearing questions about her looks all the time. "Where are you from?" "What are you?" These questions are a constant reminder from others that she is different. As she embraces her identity and culture, she teaches others that she belongs, that the differences they notice are part of what make her unique, special, and herself....

An adventure worthy of legend, for fans of Game of Thrones and Rangers Apprentice

When fifteen-year-old Æthelflæd is suddenly and reluctantly betrothed to an ally of her father, the king, her world will never be the same. For as a noblewoman in the late 800s, she will be expected to be meek and unlearned-and Flæd is anything but meek and unlearned. Her marriage will bring peace to her land, but while her royal blood makes her a valuable asset, she is also a vulnerable target. And when enemies attack, Flæd must draw upon her skills and fight to lead her people to safety and prove her worth as a princess-and as a warrior.

Review

Tingle's graceful, tightly plotted narrative is...an enthralling tale. A first-rate example of historical fiction. (Booklist, starred review)

The Edge on the Sword is a very fact-filled book. It is about the Middle Ages, and what life was like then. There is a lot of rich description and I learned a lot from it about the Middle Ages. However, the plot was not very entertaining and at times hard to follow. The story is about a girl named Aethelflaed, who goes on a journey to the kingdom of her betrothed. I found that the storyline its self left a lot to be wanted. In conclusion, this book has many facts and descriptions, but is the type of book that will make your eyes glaze over as you read.

In the historical fiction The Edge on the Sword, Flaed is betrothed to Ethelred. The auther, Rebecca Tingle, Shows how she thinks about what Flaed's childhood was like as she finds out about her inedivable marriage. I recommend this book for groups because this book has many twists and turns as Flaed is suddenly fighting for her life.

This book is about the exciting journy of the king's daughter,Flaed, as she makes her way to Mercia to be married to her father's friend and ally, Ethelred. When she first finds out about her bethrodal from her father, she is given a gaurd, Red. He is a quiet and seemingly mysterious man. In the beginning Flaed greatly dislikes her watchful gaurd, and even tries run away from his constantly watching eye. This is a book with a slow begininng but picks up in the end. It's a satisfying book for book groups because it has lots of topics to discuss and may be confusing and is nice to have others input. It is a nice book for people who can read through slow beginnings.

This book takes place in the medieval age. The main character, AEthelflaed (the a and e together are connected), is the oldest child of the king. She eventually has to marry Ethelred, king of Mercia, to form an alliance between her father's country, West Saxon, and Mercia. She has to accept that she's getting married and make the journey to Mercia. She gets a bodyguard named Red who's a quiet man that seems okay. There are many obstacles for her along her adventure and the they make the story interesting. The Edge on the Sword is a good book that's perfect for people who can't find anything to read or who just like reading. It's interesting, and there are true facts you can learn about the medieval ages.

I read the book The Edge on the Sword, by Rebecca Tingle; it was so amazing that recommend it. The book, The Edge on the Sword, is about a girl named AEthelflaed (Flaed) who is just a plane girl until one day her father tells her that she is betrothed to Ethelred the chief aldorman of Mercia. When she learns about her betrothal; coming with the news she learns a man named Red will protect her because other countries are planning to kill her. Flaed plans to run away from Red to get her freedom back. So one day she runs away; once she finally gets away, there are terrible consequences. Luckily Red barely saves her. So he starts to train her to protect herself; for the future. This book is so amazing because it expresses the power of a woman; this is when Flead starts to train to be a warrior; and is as good as any man. Equally important duty of a woman is also shown in this book; it talked about by talking about betrothal and taking care of the family. This is when Flaed is told that her duty as a woman was to be Ethelred’s mind and body, and to bare his children. Lastly this book is very exciting. It involves battle scenes described with real techniques and surprises. For example when Flaed’s life is threatened. Another reason that makes The Edge on the Sword so amazing is that it is historically accurate. One reason is Flaed lives in a guarded burgh; this is accurate because it is like a castle in the middle ages and these both had high walls around them. The reason why they were heavily guarded was because of invaders. This is correct because at that time there were many attacks from Wales and the Danish. At first when I started reading this it was only another book, that I had to read for class but it turned out to be a book; that just flew by because it was so exciting it kept the pages turning. It was such a page turner is because of it show the power of women, their duties in the middle ages and it was extremely exciting. That’s why I recommend the edge on the sword.
