Excellent mid-career Discworld book, in the form of a murder mystery. We see more about Carrot and Angua, and we watch how Golems achieve their freedom. Introduces the unforgettable Cheery Littlebottom, and shows how Vetinari shapes Vimes.
The only Pratchett book with arguably Jewish content, too; there is mention of a Kosher butcher, and the Golem holy days start at sunset.
