These are is the childhood recollections of famous writer/columnist Adela Rogers St John. St John is the daughter of famous/infamous trial lawyer Earl Rogers. She takes us back to Los Angeles to the famous trial of the 2 men who were charged with bombing the LA Times building. Rogers was asked to be a special prosecutor and the defense attorney was the equally famous Clarence Darrow. As a sidebar story Darrow was charged with jury tampering and defended by Rogers after the bombing trial. Ms St John was a young girl and on summer break while these 2 trials took place. this gives us the perspective of the trial from the point of view of a young girl. She also reminds us that her father Rogers was the role model for Gardiners super lawyer Perry Mason. The author worked as a columnist for Hearst publications so there are lots of fun stories about Hollywood performers from her unique point of view. Final Verdict was filmed as a made for cable movie featuring Treat Williams in the role as the father Earl Rogers.
