Ten years ago, 44 activists from 17 countries actually broke Israel's draconian siege on the people of Gaza. This is the book everyone should be reading as the horrid siege is worse every year. To date, 31 boats have tried to sail to Gaza. Only the first six boats from the Free Gaza movement actually made it. Read the book. You will love it

This is a great book of courage, perseverance and, 'yes,' craziness, as 44 intrepid sailors brave the Israeli military, sea sickness, miscommunications, and terror at sea. Written by 24 of the passengers on board the first two boats to land in Gaza on August 23, 2008, (the first boats in 41 years, in fact) the book is a breathtaking adventure story. You will cry. You will cheer on these determined people. You will laugh at some of the things that happened over the two years it took to buy two ramshackle boats. But, mostly, you will be in awe that civil society could do what governments refused to do... hold Israel accountable for the illegal blockade of 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza. It's a book you do NOT want to miss.
