About the Author
Julia T. Wood is the Lineberger Professor of Humanities, the Caroline H. and Thomas Royster Distinguished Professor of Graduate Education, and a professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she teaches courses and conducts research on gender, communication, culture, and communication in personal relationships. Dr. Wood has authored 17 books and edited 9 others. In addition, she has published more than 80 articles and book chapters, and she has won 12 awards for undergraduate teaching and 13 awards for her scholarship. She received her BA from North Carolina State University, her MA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her PhD from Pennsylvania State University.
