First of all, David Aja is a genuine genius. If you ever want to be awed, read about his artistic process sometime. Secondly, this comic features Kate Bishop and that's enough to get me interested in any graphic novel (Kate Bishop is snarky and talented and flawed and wonderful). Thirdly, Pizza Dog (the dog Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, accidentally adopts) is one of the best fictional dogs ever to be created. Pizza Dog brings me such joy. If I kept up this list format, this recommendation would be way too long, but let me finish by saying that this Hawkeye is the partially deaf, exasperated, struggling, heroic, generous, idiotic Hawkeye you'll absolutely grow to know and love. Synopses & Reviews
The breakout star of this summer's blockbuster Avengers film, Clint Barton — aka the self-made hero Hawkeye — fights for justice! With ex-Young Avenger Kate Bishop by his side, he's out to prove himself as one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes! SHIELD recruits Clint to intercept a packet of incriminating evidence - before he becomes the most wanted man in the world. You won't believe what is on The Tape! What is the Vagabond Code? Matt Fraction pens a Hawkeye thriller that spans the globe...and the darkest parts of Hawkeye's mind. Barton and Bishop mean double the Hawkeye and double the trouble...and stealing from the rich never looked so good.
