James Devlin had a hard life growing up. Considered a bastard until his father died, he finds he's the legitimate heir to the Blackwood title. Despite his outward appearance as a hard-nosed barrister who always wins in the courtroom, inside he's a compassionate man who wants to help others achieve positions higher than the ton would usually allow.
Discovering widowed Bella Sinclair occupying Wyndmoor Manor, the residence he'd purchased and claiming her deed was legitimate, he sets out to unseat her from his domain. However, his attraction to her and her steadfast obstinance to fight for her rights, has him admiring her and eventually protecting her from danger. James begins to follow his heart more than his head.
In the Barrister Bed is the second book in the barrister series and Tina Gabrielle did not disappoint. The story provides intrigue, romance and suspense for the reader. I loved how James changes from a cold, bastard barrister to a compassionate lover. Add this one your library and put Tina Gabrielle's name on your list of authors whose stories take you into an emotionally alluring world. I'm waiting for the next book in the series.
