As murder mysteries go this was good. Persis Wadia, the first woman member of the Indian Police Service is called upon to solve a murder case of a British Diplomat. Has she been chosen because of her skills or because it is hoped that she will fail? Persis feels failure is not an option and goes about solving the case meticulously. I particularly enjoyed the book because of its references to Bombay where I have lived. However, I wish Khan had done his fact checking better. His references to Brahmins are incorrect because the names of the people he mentions as Brahmins are not Brahmin names at all. There are some other inconsistencies too but all in all an interesting read.
