Without a doubt, this is an excellent book for anyone who wants to understand the history of the 20th century Zionist movement and the state of Israel, but it is so much more than that. The simple and candid manner in which Golda told her remarkable story made me feel immediately drawn to her personality. She talks about the challenges of being a wife and a mother of two, and doing the work she loved at the same time. She certainly transcends the two-dimentionality that is so often characteristic of political biographies, and inpires women and men alike without lecturing. This book deepened my love for Israel and also inspired me in my daily work and leadership.
