Synopses & Reviews
Rarely has dramatic literature been specifically created with young performers in mind. This is the genius of Craig Slaight's visionary new works program, in which seasoned American playwrights are invited to create theater for the young artists who have trained in A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory. While the plays are not necessarily written with a specific cast in mind, the parameters are clear: each writer is asked to write a play that actively engages the minds and passions of young (eight-to eighteen-year-old) actors. No subject matter is taboo, no safety net is imposed, and no "artificial sweeteners" are welcome.
