Synopsis
The volume is the latest in the
North Carolina Troops series, which is published by the North Carolina Office of Archives and History, with the aim of presenting the history of each North Carolina unit during the Civil War, and a service record for each soldier. The histories are compiled from the Official Records of the armies, and other primary and secondary sources. Volume 21 contains rosters of Militia regiments 62 through 121, and Home Guard units, continuing the work begun in Volume 20.
Synopsis
North Carolina Troops, 1861-1865: A Roster, Volume XXI contains a roster of regiments 62 through 121 of the North Carolina Militia. (The rosters of regiments 1 through 61 were presented in Volume XX of this series.). This is followed by a thorough history of the North Carolina Home Guard, and a roster of the twenty regiments and approximately 74 battalions of Home Guard.
