In the midst of our technology driven lives, it was great to read a book chronicling a couple who decided to give up city life and live simply. That's not a rare theme these days, but this book was written in the 1960's when most everyone wanted the chance to leave the country and take up city life. David and Jeanne Conover rid themselves of anything not considered essential to buy themselves an island and turn it into a resort. This short read describes the self sufficiency, stubbornness, joy and ingenuity of two determined people who fell in love with an island together.
