About the Author
TARRY LINDQUIST has had more than thirty years of teaching experience. Known for the innovative and practical content of her teaching, she tours the United States and Canada doing workshops and speaking and is a regular presenter with Heinemann Workshops. Lindquist has been recognized as Elementary Teacher of the Year by the National Council for the Social Studies and as a national Good Neighbor Award winner by State Farm. She is a member of the Notable Trade Book Selection Committee for the Children's Book Council and the National Council for the Social Studies
