The hypothesis of
SHE-Q: Why Women Should Mentor Men and Change the World is straightforward, its potential enormous. Females, SHE-Q declares, are the superior, whole-brained, empathic sex. Society's failure to recognize that fact has caused women to labor under a limited, male perspective, skewing their knowledge, capping their wisdom and separating them from Nature, themselves, and each other. But it doesn't have to be that way.
Interweaving personal vignettes with broad-based research, the book marshals evidence from history, science, psychology, and philosophy to underscore the validity of SHE-Q. It shows how the female brain works differently from the male brain, better integrating the left and right hemispheres so that SHE-Q transcends both IQ (intelligence quotient) and EQ (emotional intelligence). Laying out a new, feminine-based understanding of the way women and men think and behave, author Michele Takei demonstrates how women can apply this new-found knowledge to mentor the men in their lives—and achieve true equality.

"Finally a book for the times that gives a new feminine voice to the women of today's world, allowing us to see ourselves as strong, powerful and superior. Thank you Shelly for SHE-Q! A must read for women of all ages."

"It is finally time for SHE-Q: Why Women Should Mentor Men and Change the World. When I flip on the news and wonder, how did our schools, politics, government, etc. end up looking like a mess of tangled electrical cords all shorting out at the same time? It is because women are still being denigrated while men are still carrying on with their chest-thumping. Many very successful women became that way by going masculine - we see them on the television all the time, this is nothing new. Author, Michele Takei, PhD, not only shows us the surprising history of this but she shows us how under the ruse of "it is the twenty first century and we are all equal" but we are not equal. Without bashing men, SHE-Q tells us specifically, what work still has to be done and what a world of true balance would be like!" < p="">Wendy J. Reed, Author, < em=""> Done.Next.Step. < em=""> <>

"All men may be created equal, but when it comes to men and women, the bets are off. Shelley Takei's SHE-Q tallies up the differences between the sexes in ways that challenge our old notions of equality. This brilliant, necessary book articulates an inherent female value system defined by empathy, compassion and connectedness. Its perspective may very well show the way forward and save us from our worst selves." < p="">Donna M. Johnson, Author of < i=""> Holy Ghost Girl: A Memoir < i=""> <>

"I am thrilled for my sons, grandsons and the women and men in my life that this book is coming into the world right now! It seems to me that many men are now ready for this new way of being in relationship with women. Since I can remember men seem to fear much of womens' intuitive knowings and way of seeing things and can be observed to go into 'another room' in their minds as a way of escaping what is not understood, or aspects of life they have learned as young men that should not be entertained." < p="">Wendy Nash, BEd; Certified Initiatic Art Therapy, Master of Counseling, Registered MARI Practitioner / Teacher <> < p=""> <>

"At the end of this book, my wife, 'Sherry' mentions a shirt that I have. It says, 'I only do what the voices in my wife's head tell her to tell me to do.' Some might think the statement reflects a hen-pecked husband. In my case, it is a statement which summarizes years of interaction between us as she endeavored to mentor me about the ways of women and especially my relationship with her and the family. Finally, I 'got it' and had an enlightenment experience. May all men be as fortunate!" < p="">Frank Takei, PhD, Husband and Mentoree, Professor Emeritus, Philosophy, Clarion University <> < p=""> <>

"SHE-Q holistically makes sense on all levels: psychological, social, spiritual; and should work for everybody. It can be seen not only as liberating feminism from phony 'equality' within a male game, but also as a call to save the planet from the irrationality of 'rational' power. Brilliant." < p="">Charles F. Emmons, Sociologist, Gettysburg College, Author of < em=""> Science & Spirit < em=""> <>

"Dr. Takei has dared to articulate what women have long yearned for, the support of the men in their lives that gives women the power to be the social and psychological leaders they naturally are. If men accept Dr. Takei's challenge, and allow themselves to be mentored, they will find themselves in a new world of mutual appreciation, honor, and pleasure."

"Shelley Takei's ideas will change your life. She goes to the very heart of why women and men fail to have the deep, fulfilling relationships they both desire. And she knows how to fix what's ailing us. It's revolutionary stuff. Hard to swallow sometimes, but vitally important to us all." < p="">Christine Wicker, Author of < em=""> Lily Dale: The True Story of the Town That Talks to the Dead < em=""> , < em=""> God Knows My Heart < em=""> , and < em=""> Not in Kansas Anymore < em=""> <>

"Courageously written! I commend Shelley Takei for bringing to light this empowering subject … one so many of us recognize yet are apprehensive in discussing for fear of returning to the days of 'radical feminist' thinking. A must-read for those looking beyond the 'status quo' of our cultures' masculine orientation. Dr. Takei sheds light of the need for government, politics and business decisions to be made from a balanced perspective that includes the feminine values as equally as the masculine." < p="">Lauren M. "In this provocative and entertaining text, Takei (who has a doctorate in women's studies and transpersonal
psychology) makes a case for why women should mentor men toward a more holistic existence. . . . Not shying away from controversy, this work offers a vast array of topics for heated discussion and debate, including the different types of feminism and political correctness. Takei's style is to balance academic material with humor and a casual, easy-to-read tone." - Choice
