Ein Dutzend Messerstiche in die Brust machen aus der attraktiven und gut situierten Britta Piel einen Fall f r Kommissar Bombach. Ihr letzter Besucher war Steve, ein m nnlicher Escort. Problem gel st? Eher nicht, glaubt Polizeireporter Mike Staller. Man bringt doch nicht seine beste Kundin um Nur: Wer war es dann? Der Ehemann hat zumindest kein Alibi. Allerdings lebte das Paar in einer offenen Beziehung und Seitenspr nge waren akzeptiert. Wo ist also das Motiv? Auch Steve ist verheiratet und seine Frau hasst seinen Job. Zu viele M glichkeiten und zu wenig Beweise, findet Staller. Es stellt sich heraus, dass der verd chtige Escort schon einmal vom Tod einer Kundin profitiert hat. Sie hinterlie ihm eine teure Wohnung in Alstern he und eine beachtliche Summe Geld. F r Kommissar Bombach steht damit fest: Steve muss der M rder sein. Das Problem ist nur, dass es keinerlei stichhaltige Beweise gibt. Und dieses Mal ist auch keine Erbschaft im Spiel. Bei der Recherche nach Hintergr nden findet Staller zwei Dinge heraus: Britta Piel und ihr Mann hatten k rzlich Streit. Die Ehe war wohl doch nicht so problemlos, wie sie nach au en wirken sollte. Au erdem zeigt die Frau von Steve etliche Auff lligkeiten, die auf eine gest rte Psyche hindeuten k nnen. F r den Reporter stellt sich die Frage: Ist die Frau Opfer oder T ter? Dann passiert ein zweiter Mord und wieder findet die Tat unmittelbar nach einem Besuch von Steve statt. Kommissar Bombach und Polizeireporter Staller sind uneins wie selten. Jeder versucht auf seine Weise den Fall zu l sen. Am Ende hat, wie so oft, der Reporter die Nase vorn, aber auch er kann nicht verhindern, dass es zu einem turbulenten Showdown kommt.
