As the police investigation drags, Teddy and Tabor uncover a couple of leads of their own, including the victim's wildly evasive sister. Demanding an artifact from her childhood, the persuasive surviving sibling promises to tell Teddy and Tabor all she knows about her sister's demise if they help her with an impossible quest: removing a legendary treasure from the bottom of an isolated inlet. It's up to Teddy to dive into the chaos -- hoping that the mysteries of the past will solve those of the present.

She is trained in American history and has worked as a community college instructor, grants administrator, and creative writing teacher.
