The angel captain Elric is one of the heavenly hosts whose mission is to keep the King hidden until He is ready to begin His campaign. In The Birth and The Baptism, the first two books in the “Cross Intents” trilogy, the infancy and childhood years of Jesus are covered. In The Battle, Elric must protect the King in full view of the enemy during the Lord’s earthly ministry. The great mystery finally unfolds, but not in a way that anyone expects. And its impact reaches farther than any could have imagined. When will the final battle begin? Who will be victorious—Christ or Satan? And how will the King establish His kingdom?
As I noted in my reviews of the first two books in the “Cross Intents” series, author Scott Wells said, “The primary angelic characters in this story are fictional, and the specific actions they carry out are the simple musings of a single man. However, the underlying battle for the throne of the universe and the individual souls of mankind are real.” Thus, Wells interweaves the historical events of Christ’s life in the Physical Realm as recorded in the Bible with what he imagines was going on with the angels and demons in the Middle Realm. These books contain an awesome story that is wonderfully written.
