Living with two individuals who are both diabetic and have been battling high blood pressure since they were both in their late 30s (they are now in their 50s and 80s respectively), it can be difficult to find nutritional meals that don’t scream, I have medical problems. When I came across The DASH Diet Cookbook, I picked up a copy on a whim and I’m glad I did because this program will also be helpful to me in reducing my sodium. Approved by the American Heart Association and used as the basis for the new food pyramid (er, plate), you'll find the caloric charts helpful in varying serving sizes. While this book and program is much more than a cookbook, the recipes are easy to shop for and follow for those who don't cook much. More importantly, there’s plenty of sweet options to appease all the sweet tooth’s in the house.
