I'm a big fan of anything Kieron Gillen writes, and this is no exception. The art and character designs are fresh, which only complements the unique plot. No spoilers, but the basics are this: every few hundred years, gods will be reincarnated. They shine bright, humanity loves them, and then shortly they die. The characterization of gods, and their subsequent modification, fascinates me: Persephone, The Morrigan, and Amaterasu are just a few who can be found in these pages. Lucifer wears a Bowie-inspired suit, and this series has the perfect amount of glam rock. Bonus points for having well-written LGBT characters with thoughtfully developed stories and personalities.
