Sir Michael Howard CBE is Emeritus Professor of Modern History at both Oxford and Yale University. His many books include

Professor Wm Roger Louis D.Litt is Kerr Professor of English History and Culture at the University of Texas at Austin and an Associate Fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford.
