A voracious guest makes a surprise visit in this ferociously popular tale, first published more than forty years ago.ONCE THERE WAS A LITTLE GIRL CALLED SOPHIE,
AND SHE WAS HAVING TEA WITH HER MUMMY IN THE KITCHEN.
SUDDENLY, THERE WAS A RING AT THE DOOR.
When the doorbell rings unexpectedly one afternoon, Sophie and her mummy cant imagine who might be there. Much to their surprise, a tiger with a very large appetite has come to tea! What will they tell Daddy when he returns home and finds all the cupboards bare? First published in 1968, this classic and whimsical picture book from beloved childrens author and illustrator Judith Kerr is a delightful (and delicious!) story about the best way to entertain an unexpected houseguest, even when that guest just so happens to be a tiger.
Synopsis
The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mommy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don't expect to see at the door is a big furry, stripy tiger A tiger who drinks all the tea, then goes on to eat all the food in the house and drink all the drinks, even draining the water from the taps so that Sophie cannot have her bath. This reassuring, funny story with a hint of anarchy has delighted children for years since its first publication.
