Roseanna M. White excels in creating characters that I'd like to know, placing them in exciting adventures that I'll never have, and then, making me believe that it's all possible. I was sure, after reading The Nature of a Lady, that White couldn't possibly write another book that I would enjoy more. Wrong! I was so very wrong, because this second book in the Secrets of the Isles series is filled with mystery, danger, and adventure, and I absolutely loved it! I also adored the romance between Beth Tremaine and Lord Sheridan. She's full of spirit and wants nothing to do with him, but he finds her irresistible, and he's willing to admit it. He is funny and charming, and this unlikely pair soon realizes a special connection that is stronger and deeper than just searching for a lost pirate treasure.
To Treasure an Heiress is wonderful historical fiction with breathtaking romance, great supporting characters, a beautiful setting, and an inspiring faith message of forgiveness and redemption. It's a delightful read and I can't wait to learn more about Emily and Bram, two intriguing characters who deserve their own story.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.
