In the Barristers Bed
by
Tina Gabrielle
Shirley Hailstock
, October 31, 2014
James Devlin had a hard life growing up. Considered a bastard until his father died, he finds he's the legitimate heir to the Blackwood title. Despite his outward appearance as a hard-nosed barrister who always wins in the courtroom, inside he's a compassionate man who wants to help others achieve positions higher than the ton would usually allow. Discovering widowed Bella Sinclair occupying Wyndmoor Manor, the residence he'd purchased and claiming her deed was legitimate, he sets out to unseat her from his domain. However, his attraction to her and her steadfast obstinance to fight for her rights, has him admiring her and eventually protecting her from danger. James begins to follow his heart more than his head. In the Barrister Bed is the second book in the barrister series and Tina Gabrielle did not disappoint. The story provides intrigue, romance and suspense for the reader. I loved how James changes from a cold, bastard barrister to a compassionate lover. Add this one your library and put Tina Gabrielle's name on your list of authors whose stories take you into an emotionally alluring world. I'm waiting for the next book in the series.

Chocolate, Coke, and a little mystery are the mainstays of sweet shop owner Lindsay Powell's life. She always finds herself snooping around when an intriguing situation arises. In book four of the Death by Chocolate series, Lindsay and her cast of characters find themselves chasing after an imaginary friend who may be more real than imaginary. New neighbor, Sophie Fleming, moved back to the house where she lived as a child. Dreams plague her and she sleepwalks into her neighbor Fred's house and hides in his closet. This turn of events has Fred calling Lindsay to come and coax Sophie out. The two of them, with Lindsay's ex-husband's son in tow, persuade Sophie to give up her roost. But her re-entry into the real world comes with a call for someone named Carolyn. From there the fun ride begins! You'll enjoy being a fly on the wall, watching the action unfold as Lindsay and her partners in chaos unravel the mystery of the imaginary friend. But what is very real is the chocolate. Get this one and enjoy a good read and the recipes in the back.

by
Linda Barlow

, February 28, 2014
We all need a support system, especially after a tragedy or trauma. Kate Kingsley found hers in four friends who insulated the young widow after the death of her husband. They saw her partially through her grief. Three years later, Kate is still grieving but open to changing her situation, especially when devastatingly handsome Daniel Braze Haggarty steps into her line of sight. Helping one of her friends who needs an assistant to fill in for his usual psychic, Kate attends a party where paranormal investigator D. B. Haggarty meets her. Daniel mistakes her for a psychic even though she bewitches him from the moment he saw her. Intent on exposing her as a fraud, he’d attracted to her and things take a decided change. Linda Barlow’s BLAZING NIGHTS, introduces her new series NIGHT GAMES. Book one is a fun read and an excursion into the world of the supernatural. Are there real psychics? Can you separate them from the charlatans? This is D.B. Haggarty’s goal. But standing in his way just may be a witch. Even if witches and psychics aren’t your thing, read BLAZING NIGHTS. The characters are the kind you remember long after you finish the last page.

Winter of Wishes
by
Charlotte Hubbard
Shirley Hailstock
, September 17, 2013
WINTER OF WISHES is the latest book in Charlotte Hubbard’s Seasons of the Heart series. This is the second book in this series I've read and I’m sure I’ll read all of them. Charlotte really has a flare for writing like the Amish people live. Her story grabs you and wanting to know what happens next keeps you turning the pages. In WINTER OF WISHES Andy and Rhoda come from two different worlds. Witnessing their emerging love along the lively secondary characters is worth the adventure. Get this one and snuggle up for a heartwarming read.

Rosemary Opens Her Heart
by
Naomi King
Shirley Hailstock
, November 12, 2012
Naomi King’s second installment in her HOME AT CEDAR CREEK series involves widow Rosemary Yutz, content to remain single and rear her toddler daughter, Katie. But Matt Lambright is looking for a wife and when Rosemary walks into his line of vision at a wedding, he knows he’s found his love. Convincing Rosemary proves difficult, however. She’s running a baking business, taking care of her in-laws and her daughter. Still nursing the memory of her dead husband, Rosemary has no time or inclination to court. Yet her heart thuds at the thought of Matt. Naomi King has given us another character to be proud of in ROSEMARY OPEN HER HEART. And who wouldn’t want a handsome man like Matt pursuing her? Rosemary is an Amish steel magnolia " strong, intelligent and able to carry her burdens with an immodest heart. So pull the covers up and settle in for a story that will not only warm your heart, but fold you in a emotional quilt that will make you smile and hug the book to your chest as you slide down in the bed.
