Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Color the Pacific Northwest: A Timber Press Coloring Book
by

This great coloring book arrived yesterday and I've already colored three great pictures. The art work is great and the pictures are of the Pacific Northwest region from Oregon to British Columbia, Canada. I have a friend who also colors and I am ordering a 2nd coloring book as her birthday is next week and I am certain she will enjoy it. For all who do "coloring therapy", I'd like to suggest this as a great alternative as it not only shows places but also the flora and fauna of the region, including many of the different mountains in the area. A real pleasure to get "lost" in, I recommend it.

History of the Willamette Valley: Being a Description of the Valley and Resources, with an Account of Its Discovery and Settlement by White Men, and I

I've been working on my family tree since Oct 2010 and have ancestors who helped settle the Willamette Valley. I've kept seeing this book referred to the past 6+ years and feel it is about time that I get a copy for myself so I can find everything that was written about those people who, without whom, I wouldn't exist. It keeps getting printed and sold out, so I know it must be a pretty great book! It seems ironic that the older I get, the more interested I am about the past.
