Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I've been working on my family tree since Oct 2010 and have ancestors who helped settle the Willamette Valley. I've kept seeing this book referred to the past 6+ years and feel it is about time that I get a copy for myself so I can find everything that was written about those people who, without whom, I wouldn't exist. It keeps getting printed and sold out, so I know it must be a pretty great book! It seems ironic that the older I get, the more interested I am about the past.

One of greatest Oregon local history books ever published. Thoroughly enjoyed reading of the first pioneers to settle the Willamette Valley. Makes history come alive. I first borrowed from my City Library. Have read it twice (Though not a short book by any means) now I have to own my own copy and read it a third time. Local schools do not teach Oregon history as is written here. Wish they did!
