Swami For Precedent
by

Written 18 years ago from here in 2022, This book more true now, and the humor is more lifting than back in Ws day. Talk about electiile dysfunction! Does he ever run it up the flagpole and see if anybody salutes. This guy is a prophet in the world of un tell a vision. We are back in that same node of the loop we have been looping in, and the Swami nails it. . . with a light touch. You will be able to laugh, and move after reading this book that skewers our conundra on those many petards. A laugh can wash four score frowns theses days. You will both love this book and want to give one to a friend. It is a lift.

Sand Talk How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World
by
Tyson Yunkaporta

The Perfect book for this dark time. When it feels like civilization is crashing in on us from three directions, how perfect to get advice from an indigenous epistemologist, Tyson Yunkaporta. He has hung out and shared stories with many indigenous folks, who have felt our boot on their neck for generations. . . and can still laugh. Indeed one must laugh to not just deal with our current frubar, but learn. If you want the answer to your problems, this ain't it. And Tyson might say you might be looking in the wrong place, if you think an answer will fix this mess. But with the guidance and subtle thinking provided in this book, you may find your path, and your karass. For me, this is a world shaking book, and I thought I was sophisticated already. Ha! I do not believe one reading of this book will work for me. It offers a kind of perspective that allows me to see how my mind has been working against me. I love the earth, my folks were raised by homesteaders and I thought I was a tree hugger and already was friends with some Warm Springs and Umatilla and Nez Perce folks. Wow. Nothing better than an earth connection, and I am learning that is more than an individual thing. It takes a village. I leave you with this quip from the book. Tyson said that there is one thing the first peoples the indigenous had on the second peoples, we that colonized this place. The first people knew how to deal with idiots. ; - )
