About the Author
Katie Elzer-Peters is a gardener and garden writer with a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture from Purdue University and a Master's Degree in Public Horticulture from the University of Delaware and the Longwood Graduate Program through Longwood Gardens. Katie has lived and gardened in Seattle, Washington; Sarasota, Florida; Washington, D.C.; Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; Ticonderoga, New York; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Wilmington, North Carolina. This covers all major growing climates in the Unites States except for the Desert Southwest. Katie has managed botanical gardens around the United States, including managing and presenting educational programs to pre-school, elementary school, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adults. She has taught classes on basic gardening, pest identification and control, garden design, floral design and container gardening. Katie is currently a Managing Editor for Cool Springs press working with digital and printed content.
