Synopsis
"CONNECTICUT GOVERNOR ARRESTED FOR MURDER," a banner headline in the New York Times in January,2006. Early Christmas morning 2005 Anne Tremaine, a young, beautiful lawyer lobbyist, was strangled to death in her luxury condominium a few miles south of the State Capitol in Hartford. In a surprise that shocked the state and nation, the popular Governor, David Roberts, was arrested in his Capitol office and charged with her murder. He and Anne had had a torrid love affair between his two marriages. Enter Brian Kelly, a prominent criminal defense attorney and Becky Brown, a private investigator. Kelly defends Roberts in a high profile trial. Becky investigates a state rep and senator and the Mafia which is trying to build a casino. An explosive courtroom scene reveals the killer. Hostages from the governor's office are rushed to Bradley Airport in an attempt to hijack an airliner to take them to Brazil.
