Synopses & Reviews
Moody looked for love
for a long time before
he found it. He looked in
some, not all, of the wrong
places and in quite a few
of the wrong ways. It didn't
make things any easier that,
from the beginning of his
search to the short-lived
sweetness that marked its end,
he was a terribly — and we do
mean awfully — moody fellow.
But enough ado. Let us begin
at the beginning...
Review
"A wise, funny and strangely
sad fable of love, art and life.
Moody Fellow is a hero for anyone who's young
and lost and yearning to be found."
Lev Grossman, author of The Magicians
Review
"No one else is writing like Douglas Watson.
He's able to slip under the skin of our everyday lives and turn out the truth hidden beneath, with meticulous and careful words full of sympathy as well as great wit and humor. Part love story, part journey to self-discovery, part meditation on art and life and God and why the hell life matters, A Moody Fellow Finds Love and Then Dies is the book you should be reading right now."
Hannah Tinti, author of The Good Thief
Review
"A welcome reminder
of the magical properties of fiction,
the way that Douglas Watson so perfectly captures the weirdness and slanted joy of one man's quest for love in such a compressed narrative. To use Watson's own fantastic words, this unique novel sent 'a shiver of pure animal nervousness' through me that exited via my fingertips. I'll be reading it again to recapture that feeling."
Kevin Wilson, author of The Family Fang
