About the Author
Philip Stanley, a retired computer engineer and programmer, has been spent 30 years being a collector of measuring intruments and a student of their makers and uses. Mr. Stanley is the author of Boxwood and Ivory: Stanley Traditional Rules, 1855-1975, and a large number of articles on antique tools. He hs served as a director of the Midwest tool Collectors Association and the Early American Industries Association. Mr. Stanley is a dealer of antique tools and scientific instruments in Worcester, Massachusetts.
