Synopsis
This book is needed to provide guidance for the non-specialist on how and whom to treat for hypertension. It covers the measurement of blood pressure and the investigation and management of hypertensive patients. This sixth edition will encompass the major changes in treatment that have taken place since publication of the current edition in January 2007. All chapters will be updated with new content or extensive revision. The measurement of blood pressure section updates will include new content on automated measurement of blood pressure and new developments in measurement. The treatment chapters will have improved coverage on treatment of the elderly and explanation of the implications of recent trials.
