About the Author
Charles Wohlforth, a lifelong Alaskan, began his career in 1986 as a writer and journalist. His two other books for Wiley are Frommer’s Alaska and Frommer’s Family Vacations in the National Parks, the latter of which covers parks across the United States and is based on insights from the Wohlforth family’s own camping experiences. Wohlforth lives in Anchorage with his wife, Barbara; sons, Robin and Joseph; and daughters, Julia and Rebecca. His book about climate change and Native people in the Arctic is due out from Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 2004. He welcomes reader questions through his Web site, www.wohlforth.net, which also contains other writings and travel advice about Alaska.
