At night our masks come off. At night our hearts pound with joy and bleed in pain. At night we have time to think and sometimes it's at night that we see things the most clearly.Everyone has their story but at night our humanity is revealed in hope, fear and love. At Night features characters experimenting with drugs to deal with grief, those in crumbling relationships consumed by alcohol and someone getting a glimpse of what true love might look like, from across a smoking area.This collection of stories all take place At Night in Dublin, Ireland. The characters may be governed by their emotions but they are fueled by drugs and alcohol. Some are searching in the night for deeper meaning. Some are simply trying to escape.This book is a collaboration with London based Artists Sam Mead & Arizona Smith who have responded to each story with illustrations that are uniquely their own. At Night is a precursor to a larger work in progress, The Night Link. Gary Grace is a Writer from Dublin. He holds an honours degree in English Literature from Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts. Gary primarily writes autobiographical fiction. He is an active member of the Dublin Writers' Forum, a volunteer at Fighting Words and in September 2019 will begin an MFA in Creative Writing at American College Dublin where he will be developing a collection of short stories and a novel. His short stories have been featured in The Penny Dreadful, Word Legs and The Scum Gentry.
