Synopsis
En el desarrollo de la carrera de medicina, la experiencia del proceso que circunda la etapa de egreso es trascendente. Es el primer contacto con responsabilidades y temores propios del quehacer profesional. Este periodo genera conflictos relevantes entre lo que se espera de la profesi n de m dico y la realidad que esta enfrenta. Tal problem tica puede resolverse de diversas maneras, desde el xito de la realizaci n profesional hasta el fracaso de la frustraci n vocacional. Para resolver lo anterior y a la vez para proveer de m dicos a las zonas rurales, desde el Ministerio de Salud de Chile existe desde hace a os el programa "M dico General de Zona" (MGZ). Este programa si bien en gran medida soluciona la problem tica de la cobertura en salud en Chile, tambi n enfrenta desaf os respecto de las distintas "expectativas" y "certidumbres" laborales que se generan en los m dicos a trav s de todo el ciclo, desde la postulaci n e ingreso al programa, hasta el proceso vivencial de este generalato de zona. El presente libro busca, a partir de lo expresado por los propios MGZ, explorar determinados elementos que caractericen su experiencia y expectativas futuras en las zonas de destinaci n.
