Synopsis
Les lagunes sont des systemes quasi-fermes ou les interfaces regissent fortement les cycles des contaminants. L'etude de la contamination chimique et des processus d'echange eau-sediment est essentielle pour mieux cerner la pression anthropique et evaluer les atteintes qu'elle represente pour des ecosystemes lagunaires. Trois familles de contaminants organiques sont etudiees (HAP, PCB et OCP) dans les sediments de l'etang de Thau. Les niveaux et les distributions spatiales sont determines dans les sediments de surface, les stocks et les flux sont estimes. L'historique de la contamination, etudie a partir de carottes sedimentaires, s'avere representatif de l'evolution de la contamination au niveau national et concorde avec les tendances europeennes et mondiales. Les inventaires, les tendances temporelles, et les flux sont quantifies. L'etude experimentale de la disponibilite des contaminants est basee sur l'utilisation d'echantillonneurs passifs. Les resultats ouvrent des perspectives de travail sur une meilleure comprehension de la disponibilite des contaminants selon leur propriete et la nature et l'age de la matiere organique.
