It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

I love this series. While there wasn't a murder, mystery essentially means something that is not known, and therefore, a problem that needs solving. Meg Corey has harvested her first crop of apples, and Bree (Briona) Stewart her orchard manager and roommate, has not yet finished the paperwork. Meg doesn't know if she made or lost money yet. Seth Chapin, her next door neighbor and friend comes by with his dog, Max, and Meg's two goats just before a big storm hits and her furnace dies. Bree is with her boyfriend, so Seth and Max come over to stay with Meg. During this time there are a series of little, annoying acts of mishaps, which together add up to a bigger issue, and she and Seth find an ancient sampler. Part of the book is about the sampler and genealogy and part is solving the annoying acts of vandalism and harassment. All in all, I love this series and the characters, and of course the recipes.
