Synopses & Reviews
This book, published by the Boone and Crockett Club, captures the tales of the hunts for the top 117 North American big game animals entered in the Club's 25th Awards Program. It lists 4,220 trophies accepted in 36 of the 38 North American big game categories recognized by the Boone and Crockett Club. Stories told by the hunters themselves provide exciting reading and provide invaluable information about areas currently producing trophy quality big game animals. These stories provide interesting insights into the hunting techniques used in each hunting situation. Specialized techniques used for each big game species and adaptations for the different habitat types in which each species is found provide interesting and useful information for experienced, as well as novice sportsmen. Each story is unique and each hunter has their own special way of capturing in words the intensity of their experiences. The common thread that runs through all of these stories is the deep respect shared by the hunters for the animal being pursued and the Fair Chase ethic shared by the hunters.
The records section of this book provides detailed information about each of the accepted entries and lists the areas where the animals were harvested. Many interesting facts are included in this wealth of data making it the authoritative guide for hunters and wildlife professionals alike.
In this era of ever increasing challenges to our wildlife and our natural resources, Boone and Crockett Club's 25th Big Game Awards 2001-2003, celebrates the many wonderful successes unique to the management and conservation of big game in North America.
