Synopsis
Humanity's continued feverish quest for natural resources threatens to unleash ancient monsters of the deep and beyond in the highly anticipated third installment of the critically-acclaimed series Carthago. Scotland, 2029. Two years after the terrible nuclear explosions that obliterated the world as we knew it, a group of monks have chosen to rebuild their monastery on a former oil platform that monks have chosen to rebuild their monastery. It is here that Lou Melville is taken in after her mini-submersible was attacked by one of the last submarines to ply the waters. Lou had just left the newt sanctuary to escort the megalodons to a pit where they were to regain their freedom... until the brawler decided otherwise and became aggressive, forcing her back to the surface. When Lou wakes up on the platform after two months in a coma, the semblance of equilibrium restored by the monks is threatened by an internal phenomenon that seems to be gaining momentum: the development within the order of an alternative faction, which prays to the marine deity Abzu. Lou understands that his presence among the monks is perhaps indirectly linked to the emergence of these religious troubles...
