Born and educated in Scotland, Marguerite qualified as a lawyer though, she chose a career in IT instead, picking up an honours and a masters degrees in history in her spare time. She had dreamed of being a writer since winning a poetry competition aged nine, and finally took the plunge thirty years later with a historical romance.
