Synopses & Reviews
Complete rosters, and data on C&O's dieselization and experience with first and second generation diesel locomotives, through the C&O/B&O era up to Chessie System. C&O, the ultimate steam railway, opted for diesels saying they were a stopgap measure until a Coal-Fired Turbine could be developed, but seeing the economics, quickly dieselized and forgot steam. This is the most complete story yet on this fascinating subject, illustrated with great color photography, as well as some B&W for subjects where no color is available. Includes painting and letter data. This book is ideal for railfans, C&O enthusiasts and modelers.
