About the Author
Gena Hamshaw, C.C.N., is a pre-medical, post-baccalaureate student at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and plans to start medical school in the fall of 2014. Genas dream is to bring holistic wisdom and a compassionate viewpoint to the practice of internal medicine. Genas blog, Choosing Raw, has been featured on Glamour.com, on the Whole Living website, and was part of the first ever raw foods story in
O Magazine. She is a columnist at
VegNews magazine, and has been nominated for best blog in the magazines end of year Veggie awards” for three years in a row. She is also a regular contributor to numerous well known websites in the health and wellness world, including Kris Carrs Crazy Sexy Life site (to which she is a regular contributor) and One Green Planet. She gives numerous health and nutrition workshops at yoga studios, integrative nutrition schools, and Whole Foods markets.
