Students first read how Plato urges people to use language and rhetoric to pursue truth. From Plato students should learn to persuade, using dialectics to discover definitions and probabilities.Next, students will learn from Aristotle how different kinds of persuasion are more productive in different cultural contexts. Students will learn the artistry of balancing logos, pathos, and ethos to meet the needs and expectations of various reading communities"
