Essstrungen wie Anorexie und Bulimie sind schon lange bekannte Strungsbilder, neu jedoch entwickelt sich in den letzten Jahren die Adipositas zu einem weltweiten Gesundheitsproblem. Das Essverhalten und damit die Ernhrung gehren deswegen in der heutigen Zeit zu einem der wichtigsten Themen in unserer Gesellschaft. Im vorliegenden Buch wird unter Einbezug bestehender Theorien erstmals ein Gesamtmodell zur Erklrung des unterschiedlich dysregulierten Essverhaltens fr verschiedene Essstrungen und fr Adipositas dargestellt. Psychologische und physiologische Einflussgrssen auf das Erleben von Hungergefhlen, Appetit und Sttigung und damit dem Essverhalten werden kritisch berprft. In Erweiterung bisheriger Theorien zum Essverhalten integriert das Modell emotionale und physiologische Aspekte und setzt Schwerpunkte auf Ressourcen und Vulnerabilitten, die das konkrete Essverhalten bestimmen. Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung verschiedener Strungsbilder veranschaulichen die im Modell beschriebenen Einflussgrssen und deren Vernderung whrend einer therapeutischen Intervention.
