Es gibt alte schone Namen dafur: die Pflanze ist etwas Kosmisches, das Tier ist au erdem ein Mikrokosmos in bezug auf einen Makrokosmos. Erst damit, da ein Lebe wesen sich derart aus dem All absondert, da es seine Lage zu ihm bestimmen kann, ist es ein Mikrokosmos geworden. Selbst die Planeten sind in ihrer Bahn an die gro en Kreisl ufe ge bunden; nur diese kleinen Welten bewegen sich frei im Ver h lthis zu einer gro en, deren sie sich als ihrer Umwelt bewu t sind. Erst damit hat fur unser Auge das, was das Licht im Raume darbietet, den Sinn eines Leibes bekommen. Etwas in uns widerstrebt, wenn wir auch der Pflanze einen eigentlichen Leib zuschreiben m chten.
