Synopsis
The quick wit and insightful observations of Jack Ohman are evident in this, his first collection of editorial cartoons for Pelican. Ohman lampoons President Clinton, Newt Gingrich, and O. J. Simpson. The social issues of race, homelessness, and abortion are also subjects for his commentary. Even the more recently hotly debated topics of cloning and the Clinton Coffees are criticized.ABOUT THE AUTHORJack Ohman, a resident of Portland, is the editorial cartoonist for the Oregonian. His cartoon strip Mixed Media is syndicated throughout the country. His work has been featured in several volumes of Pelican's Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year. He is also the recipient of the 1996 Overseas Press Club Award. In selecting the cartoons for this collection, Ohman poured over seven years' worth of cartoons, incurring two bleeding paper cuts and one superficial one.
