THERE are few parishes of which there is not wmething interesting to be recolcied, and few of which the records are satisfactorily dealt with in County histories. Of the four parishes which are dealt with in this little volume, each how- erer has a special interest of its own, one being the site of a burial place belonging to the earliest times of our national existence, and of a Koman Camp a second containing the interesting remains of a Castle that vas inhabited by a great branch of the Berkeley family for seeral centuries and the two others possessing parish books which illustrate, in a remarkable manner, tho parochial life of the district from the time of Queen Elizabeth donnrd.
