About the Author
Kaie Wellman compiled, wrote, photographed and designed eat.shop.portland. A 5th generation Oregonian, Ms. Wellman not only knows her way around her birthplace, Portland...but she shows the town from a unique perspective. Trained at Parsons School of Design in NYC, Ms. Wellman has designed everything from album covers for Motown Records to invitations in tuna cans for PICA (Portland Institute for Contemporary Art). Her writing career began (and somewhat ended) with "Blah, Blah, Blah," a column she wrote with her best friend, Amy Faust, in a weekly Portland paper. Best known for her travel photographs, Ms. Wellman shoots with a designer's eye, and is known for confounding locals all over the world with her love of shooting things like garbage cans, candy wrappers and trampled leaves.
