Professional English is a five-volume integrated skills English for Specific Purposes series designed for intermediate-level pre-work and working students. English for the Humanities is an integrated skills book designed to provide 40 hours of teaching and practice material for university students specializing in a Liberal Arts program or studying for a degree in the Social Sciences.
About the Author
Kristin Johannsen held an MA in Applied English Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She had extensive experience teaching English in Japan, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, France, and the United States. She has presented her ideas on global issues at multiple conferences around the world and was a published author. She spoke several languages including French, German, Spanish, Norwegian, and Korean. The author team (Hector Sanchez, Eric Tejeda, David Ramos, Isa Tirado, Norma Hernandez, and Arthur Frias) are the academic coordinators of the different programs offered by PROULEX, the University of Guadalajara Language Center. They are experienced in-house materials developers, testing materials writers, and syllabus designers. They all have close contact with the Comunidades Bilingues project, will be able to observe classes, interview instructors and pilot materials throughout the writing of the series.
