Synopses & Reviews
This work updates and expands upon the initial volume and the first supplement of Sinclair's now-standard reference, French Devotional Texts of the Middle AgeS≪/i> (Greenwood Press, 1979, 1982). The present work makes available for the first time information about 1500 unrecorded medieval French vernacular devotional texts. Each entry includes details of the text's subject matter, typological structure, location in manuscript, and edition, along with critical commentary. This second supplement also contains new information that has been discovered since the publication of the initial volume in 1979 concerning incipits 2379-5372.
