Angus:My mixed-breed cat, half domestic tabby, half Scottish wildcat. The size of a small Labrador, only mad. Likes to stalk Mr. and Mrs. Next Door's poodle. I used to drag him around on a lead, but, as I explained to Mrs. Next Door, he ate it.

Thongs:Stupid underwear worn by old Swotty Knickers, Lindsay What's the point of them, anyway? They just go up your bum, as far as I can tell.

Full-Frontal Snogging:Kissing with the trimmings, lip to lip, open mouth, tongues...everything (apart from dribble, which is never acceptable). As taught to me by a professional snogger.

In this wildly funny journal of a year in the life of Georgia Nicolson, British author Louise Rennison has perfectly captured the soaring joys and bottomless angust if being a teenager. In the spirit of Bridget Jones' Diary, this fresh, irreverent, and simply hilarious book will leave you laughing out loud. As Georgia would say, it's "Fabbity fab fab!"

Review

"It will take a sophisticated reader to enjoy the wit and wisdom of this charming British import, but those who relish humor will be satisfied. Fresh, lively, and engaging." School Library Journal

Review

"It's Bridget Jones for teenagaers — but funnier. Expect Potter-esque queues for the sequel." Sunday Telegraph (London)

Review

"Georgia is a wonderful character whose misadventures are not only hysterically funny but universally recognizable. This 'fabbity, fab, fab' novel will leave readers cheering, 'Long live the teen!' and anxiously awaiting the promised sequel." Michael Cart, Booklist

Review

"It does seem less like writing and more like copying, but Bridget [Jones]herself would probably applaud the author's audacity." Horn Book

Review

"You know when you really should stop laughing and everyone is looking at you? This was me reading the manuscript on the train. This is a brilliant book!...I can't recommend it highly enough." The Guardian (London)

Synopsis

Her dad's got the mentality of a Teletubby (only not so developed). Her cat, Angus, is trying to eat the poodle next door. And her best friend thinks she looks like an alien -- just because she accidentally shaved off her eyebrows. Ergghhhlack. Still, add a little boy-stalking, teacher-baiting, and full-frontal snogging with a Sex God, and Georgia's year just might turn out to be the most fabbitty fab fab ever!

About the Author

Louise Rennison lives in Brighton, the San Francisco of England (apart from the sun, Americans, the Golden Gate Bridge, and earthquakes). Since the success of her one-woman autobiographical show, Stevie Wonder Felt My Face, she has written for many British comedy stars; currently she is a roving reporter and columnist and is working on two more books about Georgia. She has two goldfish, Finn and Bjork, who are her biggest fans.

this book is "drop -on- the- floor- rolling- around- and can't- stop- laughing-till- i- faint" funny. It's amazing, and the others in the series are just as fun as well. And it really is for all ages because my language arts teacher actually recommended it after laughing through the whole class and she's 50! Definitely lifts you when you're feeling down

This book is hilarious and it isn't just for teenage girls -it's for grown up teens too, especially mums who have teenage girls living at home. I made myself look very silly reading this on a bus as I couldn't stop hooting like a loon. It is packed with gags and some of the events are so funny that I almost choked to death laughing! Excellent read. I have also read the second book now and am lookingforward to the third in the series.
